Winter at Lake Wenatchee

Twenty-three miles from Stevens Pass, and a groomed trail out the back gate

When snow arrives at Kahler Glen the whole community turns out to groom ski trails, snowshoe trails, sledding hills and an ice rink. Downhill is half an hour up Highway 2.

Kahler Glen winter recreation

A winter playground the community builds itself

When snow arrives at Kahler Glen, the community gets to work. Local volunteers and the Community Association partner with Lake Wenatchee State Park and Kahler Mountain Club to provide groomed ski trails, snowshoe trails, walking trails, sledding spaces, ice skating and play areas.

After the hill

The sauna is the real reason to keep a winter membership

Hot tub, cedar sauna and an 85-degree indoor pool, thirty minutes off the pass. The Athletic Club is open 5:30 am to 10 pm every day of the year, and Wildflour is serving dinner Wednesday through Saturday until nine.

Ski the pass, swim at the club

An Athletic Club membership runs year round and takes three months minimum — which covers exactly one ski season. Lucy Payne answers the same day — email [email protected].
